Samyang MF 14mm F2.8 is a manual high-performance lens, optimized and developed for the latest Nikon camera series with Z MountThe lens is designed for cameras with 35mm full frame sensors for best photo and video shooting, especially for the latest high resolution Nikon Z series mirrorless cameras.
unique perspectivesThe compact 14mm Samyang wide-angle lens produces unique images. The wide-angle lens is much more accurate than the standard lens at the same subject distance. The Samyang lens is suitable for the entire spectrum of wide-angle photography, but especially for landscape photography and indoor photography. The distinct depth impression of the wide-angle images offers room for creative photography.
Enormous width and great depth of fieldThe lens has a short focal length. With a close-up limit of just 28 cm, the manually focusable wide-angle lens is particularly suitable for crisp, high-contrast images at close range. Thanks to the excellent speed of f/2.8, optimal exposures without long exposure times are possible even under unfavourable lighting conditions. The full-format sensor has an image angle of 115.7°, the Nikon APS-C sensor 77.2°.
High pixel count for excellent optical functionality The extraordinary imaging performance derives from the sophisticated optical system. It consists of 10 groups with 14 lenses. The two aspherical lenses (one hybrid), 2 ED lenses and 3 HR lenses deserve special mention. The aspherical lenses (ASP) minimize aberrations by reducing unwanted light scattering. The ED lenses (extra-low distortion) prevent chromatic aberrations. The HR (high refractive) lens optimizes the beam path for a clear and vivid image. Samyang's Ultra Multi Coating UMC reduces aberrations and unwanted refractions that can lead to flares and ghosting. With these matched high precision aspherical and high refractive lenses, the various possible aberrations are minimized, resulting in a crisp image. In particular, the lens has excellent distortion correction and offers excellent resolution from center to edge. The lens hood also prevents annoying lateral light incidence and lens reflections that would lead to loss of contrast.
Innovative design and weather protectionThe lens is not merely technically elaborate, but also outstanding in its appearance. It interprets the design of the mirrorless cameras in a new way. The camera and lens thus form a harmonious duo. The high-quality 14mm f/2.8 lens has a compact design despite the solid metal housing. The focus ring is matted, which not only looks good on the lens, but also provides the photographer with a good grip. The lens features the Samyang weather protection and resists snow or light rain showers.
Advantages of a full frame lens on a camera with APS-C sensorThe Samyang MF 14mm F2.8 is designed for full frame. Of course you can also use it on cameras with smaller sensors, e.g. APS-C. Since a correspondingly smaller section of the full-frame image circle hits the sensor from the lens, the image angle is also smaller (115.7° for full-frame, 77.2° for APS-C on Nikon). Thus, the image contents of the APS-C image are a central section of the image that a full format camera would display. Aberrations usually occur at the edge, especially with wide-angle lenses, so the quality for APS-C cameras is always maximum.
